Lush Rub Rub Rub scrub review

lush rub rub rub

I stumbled upon a Lush counter at Phoenix Mall in Bangalore last week and came across this pretty blue salt scrub that I had to have. Here is my review of the product.

What Lush claims

They say that this shower scrub is not only for your skin, but also for your hair. Yes, it can also be used as a shampoo too.

Ingredients used in Lush’s Rub Rub Rub scrub

Lush claims they use natural ingredients and safe synthetics. Here is a list of the main ingredients listed on the container:

Natural – Fine Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride) , Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum) , Water (Aqua) , Jasmine Flower Infusion (Jasminum officinale) , Mimosa Absolute (Mimosa tenuiflora) , Orange Flower Absolute (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum officinale) , Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum) , Lactic Acid and Limonene Fragrance.

Safe synthetics – FD&C Blue No. 1 , D&C Red 28, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate  and Lauryl Betaine.

What I like about the scrub

  • The fragrance – It has the fragrance of lemon and a mix of floral notes which make it fresh and invigorating. The fragrance stays on post your shower.
  • The texture – the salt granules are not harsh on the skin and when the product is in contact with water, it lathers a little. This makes it perfect for my summer showers. If you like stronger exfoliation, use this scrub on dry skin. Else, use it under the shower for milder exfoliation.
  • End result – I have smoother skin after I use this baby, and my skin continues to feel hydrated.
  • As a shampoo – I have limp hair, so the salt and lemon in this potion adds volume.
  • The packaging – The tub makes it easy to access the product and scoop out the right amount. Some people compalin about the packaging but I think this product is most suited to the tub it comes in because it allows you to get even the last salt particle out.
  • The color – Its bright blueness is a treat for the eyes.

Cons of this scrub

I haven’t found anything to complain about. My partner and I love this product and I wouldn’t hesitate from buying another tub.

I guess the only disadvantage some of us may feel is its price. The product retails at 350 INR for 130g. For the rates in USD, GBP, or your local currency, log onto http://lush.com/

I hope this review is helpful. I love the scrub and think it is perfect for summer. Let me know if you use this product or if you plan on giving it a try.

I have been wondering about the other products that Lush carries. I buy their bath bombs and love them. I’m going to have to give this one a try!

I haven’t tried their bath bombs. I guess I should. If you buy this scrub, let me know if you like it.
The next product on my wishlist is their bubblegum lip scrub. I hear it’s good.
